About Beautiful Mathematics

Beautiful Mathematics is a small project by Fahmi Waez in Coburg, Germany. We take classic proofs and methods — Euclid, the Indian and Chinese traditions, the scholars of Baghdad — and draw them step by step, in the colours of Oliver Byrne's 1847 edition of Euclid.

The videos come in pairs: a 60-second Short that shows the idea, and a longer video that goes through the whole argument and its history. This site is their written home: every page can be read without watching, with the sources open for checking.
